Salinental valley

Breathe in the refreshing salty air just like by the sea. Enjoy the beneficial effects on the respiratory tract, bronchial tubes and skin. The graduation wall Karlshalle near the Salinenbridge offers from April-October on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month the opportunity to access one of the powerful brine sputtering systems from above.

One graduation wall after another, each 9 metres high, with a total length of 1.1 kilometres. Brine trickles down these huge walls of blackthorn brushwood which constitute Europe's largest open-air inhalatorium. Salinental valley is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Crucenia Thermen thermal baths

Three indoor and outdoor pools with 33°C warm brine (rich in salt and minerals) and a very mild salt concentration of about 1.5%, a large freshwater pool, spacious relaxation areas both indoors and out, and regular aqua gymnastics courses are the perfect way to relax, unwind and recharge one’s batteries.

Bathing in brine improves blood circulation and strengthens the immune system when practised regularly. The aqua fitness sessions included in the admission fee are intensive and particularly effective.

Bridge Houses "Brückenhäuser"

The four Brückenhäuser bridge houses, landmark of Bad Kreuznach, stand on the Alte Nahebrücke bridge, at the beginning of Mühlenkanal. Bad Kreuznach's best-known monument are timber structures and were built from 1480 onwards due to a shortage of land.

One of the Brückenhäuser has a cannon ball mounted in its facade, a reminder of the time when the town was besieged and captured by the Spanish and the Swedes during the Thirty Years’ War (1620 and 1632 respectively).

The town Parks in Bad Kreuznach

The town's most beautiful parks: Das Caravelle Hotel im Park is directly surrounded by two parks. Outdoor: the Rose Island (Roseninsel) a small island in the Nahe river provided the location for a major rose exhibition held back in 1905, nature, hiking, biking, sports and more starts directly at the hotel beside the Nahe river.

Oranienpark – flora and fauna in the middle of town: is not only an oasis in natural surroundings, it also features a mini-golf course where fun for the whole family is guaranteed. Fans of strange and exotic plants will love the Schloßpark gardens, while those wanting to see spectacular views of the whole town can take the Panoramaweg path which runs up by the vineyards.

Museums - history of Bad Kreuznach

The three museums of the city of Bad Kreuznach are located in the charming ambience of the former Ritterert estate. The "Museums in the KulturViertel" (Cultural quarter museums and exhibitions): the Museum Schlosspark, the Museum Römerhalle and the Museum for PuppentheaterKultur.

In addition to the city and art history collections, the Museum Schlosspark, formerly the manor of the estate, in the middle of a landscape park also houses a prehistory and prehistory section.

The Museum Römerhalle (Roman villa) presents luxury, religion and everyday life of the Roman era in the rustic ambience of the Römerhalle, the finds from the Roman Kreuznach and its surroundings. The main attraction are the two mosaic floors from the middle of the 3rd century, which were found in the neighboring Roman villa.

The Museum for PuppentheaterKultur (Museum of Puppetry Arts) takes you into the fascinating world of puppet theater: watching, trying out, listening or even visiting the theater make the PuK Museum an experience for young and old. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate acquired one of the largest collections of German puppet theater of the 20th century from the puppet theater collector Karl-Heinz Rother and entrusted it to the city of Bad Kreuznach as a permanent loan. The city of Bad Kreuznach has created a new, contemporary museum with a theater and puppet workshop in an old estate, the Rittergut Bangert, on an area of 1,500 square meters.

The Steinskulpturenpark und Steinskulpturenmuseum (Stone Sculpture Park and Stone Sculpture Museum) maintains the artist family Kubach-Wilmsen their studio in Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg with a view of the castle of the same name and the steep face of Rotenfels. In Ebernburg the two realized a sculpture park that is supposed to collect the stones of the world. Part of the park is a museum designed by the Japanese star architect Tadao Ando.

The Künstlerbahnhof (artist station) Ebernburg is a facility in a former station building on the railway line Bad Kreuznach - Kaiserslautern. The building is located between the districts of Bad Münster am Stein and Ebernburg. The purely voluntary artist station is such a showcase of contemporary art in Bad Kreuznach.

3x3 Salinental - circular hiking trails around Bad Kreuznach. Bad Kreuznach and Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg offers hiking and cycling enthusiasts wide landscapes of hills, forests, vineyards and meadows. They form an easily accessible and well-developed contiguous hiking area. In the Bad Kreuznach city forest alone, you can use a circular hiking trail network with a total length of 80 km.

The Naheland cycle path (128 km) from Bingen via Bad Kreuznach, Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg, Bad Sobernheim, Idar-Oberstein and Birkenfeld to Nohfelden - or vice versa. The path runs along the Nahe.

The Mediterranean hiking landscape begins right in front of our entrance to the Hotel Caravelle.
